Athena: an AI operating system for a one-person business group
multi-agent orchestration · local/sovereign inference · human-in-the-loop approvals
Problem
Running multiple businesses typically requires a team of specialists. The operator needed a way to handle finance, legal, marketing, operations, and governance without hiring external staff or relying on paid external AI services. The gap was a self-contained system that could manage daily tasks while keeping the human in control.
What we built
Athena is a multi-agent orchestration system built on owned hardware. It uses local models for inference, removing dependence on paid external AI. The system deploys a team of specialised agents for finance, legal, marketing, operations, and governance. These agents do not act unilaterally. They surface decisions through a single private web app interface for human approval.
Outcome
Athena coordinates the day-to-day operations of the business group using a team of specialised agents. The operator manages the entire group through a single private web app, approving decisions before any outward action is taken. All inference runs locally on owned hardware.
